The whole album is so frail you fear it might fall apart in your hands. A delicate flower of seemingly formless distortion, blooming like a ghostly orchid as the hollow echoes merge together to create a distant, ethereal soundscape just inside the audible range of your imagination. Tatum’s wan musings of loss and tenderness are bleak tales, but lowered so deep into the mix that they become another instrument – and anyone who manages to turn wan musings into a positive has pulled a fucking trick.
